Ceiling Tiles
Snap-Grid Installation Guide!
The all new "Snap-Grid Ceiling System was designed to secure tin made ceiling tiles to drywall or any surface, without the need for furring strips or plywood.
Wall moldings are manufactured in 6' lengths. Install all wall molding where the ceiling meets the walls, 1/32" below the ceiling line. Secure wall molding with suplied drywall screws. Install one piece of molding directly into the corner of the room, then install the second molding, 90 degrees from the first installed molding.
Pick a mid point of the longest wall to insert the first 24" x 24" Snap-Grid Tin Ceiling in the center of that mid point. Slide one of the four outer flanges on top of the wall molding, inserting the male flange between the molding and the ceiling, in the 1/32" space provided by the step #1. The flat recessed ledge of the Snap-Grid tile will sit on the wall molding support ledge. Install two drywall screws into the two middle holes of the Snap-Grid panel on the other three sides of the ceiling panel. The result should have a Snap-Grid tile supported on one side by the wall molding and the other three sides secured to the ceiling with drywall screws.
Take one, main 6ft. runner "Snap-Grid" insert lining up one end with the wall molding and press into place in between the two Snap-Grid ceiling tiles. Continue across the the room in the same direction. Next, snap the 2nd main 6 ft. runner into the Snap-Grid ceiling tiles, mating the two ends together to form one long main runner until you extend to the opposite wall. If need be, cut the main 6ft. runner to fit the area if less than 6ft. long.
Take one, Snap-Grid 2' cross runner and snap into place between the two main 6' runners, forming a square. Continue throughout to finish the main section of the room. If the area you are filling is less than 2' long, you will need to cut the 2' Snap-Grid inserts to fit the smaller than 2' area that is left over. Cut insert with a mitre saw or hack saw.
If necessary: When filling in remaining areas that are not complete 24" x 24" panels measure the distance between the currently installed Snap-Grid ceiling tile and the edge of the wall molding. Measure from the installed tile outer hole and to the edge of the wall molding. When you have this measurement, add 3/16" to the measured length. Take the tile to be cut and measure from the exposed outer hole to the length determined by the opening to be filled and draw a line on the tile. Cut along line to the desired width using tin snips or paper cutter. Tile can be installed with the flatten edge or just the cut tile edge. (Purely a preference on look). If you prefer a flat edge, then flatten the cut edge with a piece of wood and a hammer about 3/16". This flat area will be used as support for the ceiling tile on the molding ledge of the installed wall molding.. Insert cut edge into wall molding flange and secure opposite side male flange with two drywall screws in the exposed two outer holes.

After securing you first Snap-Grid tile to the ceiling, place a second Snap-Grid panel over the exposed male flange of the installed panel while also sliding the adjacent flange in between wall molding and ceiling, such as step #2. When installed, two outer exposed holes should line up thru the two overlapping male flanges. Next, install two drywall screws thru the two outer holes, securing the two panels together and attaching the second Snap-Grid tile to the ceiling substrate. Again, install two drywall screws in the middle holes on the oppostie flanges as stated on the previous operation, so the second tile is attached to the ceiling. Repeat operation in both directions until meeting up with adjacent walls.
